Air Canada hosts Opération Enfant Soleil at its headquarters for the launch of Passeport de rêve draw
Oct 11, 2024

Yesterday, Air Canada had the privilege of hosting the weather segment of Quebec morning show, Salut Bonjour at its Montreal headquarters. As the proud presenting partner of Passeport de rêve, a draw to benefit Opération Enfant Soleil, the airline hosted an event for partners and employees which included short speeches, a meeting with Liam, the Enfant Soleil for the Lanaudière region, as well as a presentation of the Passeport de rêve’s television commercial.

“It is a real privilege to be able to count on dedicated partners like Air Canada, who directly contribute to the great success of the Passeport de rêve Air Canada draw”, said David Archambault, Vice President, Philanthropic Development and Partnership at Opération Enfant Soleil. “Their support allows us to pursue our mission and offer every child the best chance of recovery. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of thousands of Quebec families, so that all children can grow up healthy and thrive, today and tomorrow.”

Air Canada is proud to see the impact of the funds raised through initiatives like this for children like Liam and their families. Liam has needed hospital care since he was born; with yearly follow-ups in neurosurgery, radiology, dermatology, orthopedics, rheumatology and physiatry. Today, thanks to treatments and medical equipment financed by Opération Enfant Soleil, which, among other things, saved Liam from paralysis, he is doing well and enjoying life!

“Through our partnerships with pediatric hospitals across Canada we have seen the resilience and strength required of families as they support and advocate for their children. We have a common goal with Opération Enfant Soleil which is the well-being of sick children across Québec,” said Rebecca Smillie Nedelec, Director, Community Engagement at the Air Canada Foundation. “We aim to offer hope, strength, and a sense of resilience to kids and their families as they navigate the day-to-day challenges facing families with a sick child.”

In 2023, thanks to the involvement of all partners who participated in ticket sales and to everyone who purchased a ticket, a record sum of $800,000 was raised and will allow the realization of several projects for the well-being of sick children, both in Quebec’s four major paediatric centres and in the province’s regional hospitals.
