Air Canada Announces Election of Directors

MONTREAL, May 16, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada (TSX: AC.A, AC.B) announced today that all of the nominees listed in the management proxy circular dated March 24, 2014 were elected as directors of Air Canada at the company's Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders which was held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Montreal.

All of the nominees already served as directors of Air Canada and each of the directors was elected by a majority of the votes cast by shareholders present or represented by proxy at the meeting. The results of the vote are detailed below.

At the meeting, shareholders also ratified the renewal of Air Canada's shareholder rights plan originally adopted by Air Canada's Board of Directors on March 30, 2011, and amended and restated on March 27, 2014. A copy of the amended and restated rights plan is available on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.

Final voting results on all matters voted on at the meeting will be filed on SEDAR.
